This is a faithful recreation of the FlashMaster, the early-2000s
handheld that drilled every basic math fact. Pick an operation and a level,
then press one of the six yellow activity keys.
Settings
- + โ ร รท cycles the operation.
- LEVEL cycles difficulty 1โ9. In Practice, Test, and
Flashcards, level n covers the 0s through ns tables
(level 9 = every fact). In the Table activities it picks
which table you run.
- TIME LIMIT cycles the whole-activity limit for
Practice and Test: off, or 30โ180 seconds.
Activities
- Table: In Order โ one table, up 0โ9 and back down.
- Table: Not in Order โ the same table, shuffled.
- Practice โ 30 problems from your level. Miss one and
it repeats until you get it; miss it twice in a row and the FlashMaster
shows the answer, then has you key it in.
- Test โ 30 problems, one try each, score at the end.
- Flashcards โ 30 problems against the clock-on-the-wall:
no limit, but your average seconds per problem is your score.
- Special Problems โ replays the 15 problems you missed
most recently, until each is answered correctly.
Answering
Type with the keypad or your keyboard. Answers submit by themselves when
you've typed the right number of digits โ just like the real thing.
Backspace erases; Enter submits early.
Missed problems are remembered between visits.
Ten minutes a day and the times tables are yours.
